The story
Le Moissonnier Bistro, at Krefelder Straße 25 in Köln, pairs a French bistro kitchen with a seafood-heavy menu, and it holds one Michelin star for 2026. Guests can choose a four-course menu or order from the à la carte card.
Executive chef Eric Menchon reworks bistro classics with precision. The fish soup, described as made in the style of Aix-en-Provence, is robust and carries a Mediterranean character. The Icelandic cod arrives tender beside a delicately balanced herb cream. For dessert, the playful Snickers combines peanut caramel with Valrhona chocolate ice cream.
Snugly arranged tables and Art Deco details give the dining room its bistro character. Service has a distinctly Rhineland sense of humor. The wine list favors lesser-known French bottles, many of them poured by the glass and mostly from biodynamic vineyards and direct imports.
