The story
Da Damiano is an Italian restaurant at Marzellenstraße 66 in Cologne, awarded 2 Kochlöffel by Schlemmer Atlas in 2026. It sits a short walk from the Hauptbahnhof and serves a Mediterranean-leaning menu in German, Italian and English.
Starters include beef carpaccio with seasonal truffle, burrata on basil pesto and an octopus tentacle on white bean purée. Gillardeau oysters are sold by the piece. Pasta is made fresh, from tagliolini with seasonal truffles to strozzapreti with beef fillet ragù. Garganelli with prawns and green asparagus appears alongside them.
The fish list runs from sole with butter and sage to tuna steak in a black sesame coat with saffron sauce. Salmon comes in a pistachio crust. On the meat side, the crown of lamb arrives in foamed butter with garlic and herbs. Rabbit leg with rosemary honey sauce and an Argentinian entrecote with fleur de sel are also on the card. Set menus are available on request.
Schlemmer Atlas describes the dining rooms as elegant and clad in natural stone, a fitting backdrop for an upscale Italian kitchen. Gambero Rosso also gave Da Damiano 2 forks in 2025. Desserts range from tiramisu and pistachio parfait to a panettone log filled with chocolate mousse.
