The story
EigenArt is a French and international restaurant at Hebelstraße 17 in Karlsruhe, listed as Michelin Recommended in 2026. It sits downtown, and the walls double as exhibition space.
The Schlemmer Atlas gave EigenArt 2.5 Kochlöffel in 2026. It points to hearty traditional plates such as Tafelspitz broth, roulade and roast beef, plus a fine five-course menu. The current cards are a HeimatMenü with the regular Speisekarte and a separate EigenArtMenü, both dated from 27 February 2026. Fridays carry a BackFisch special.
The restaurant regularly hosts exhibitions, and the artist Sergey Tschumakov is back with a new show. Outside, the terrace is open to guests with dogs. Private dining is available for weddings, Christmas parties, christenings and anniversaries, with a set menu for up to 40 guests or a buffet for up to 30.
The wine card leans on German growers from the Pfalz, Baden and Saale-Unstrut, with a few bottles from Burgundy and Piedmont. Most whites by the glass come as dry Grauburgunder, Chardonnay, Riesling or Sauvignon blanc, and rosé is poured as well.
