The story
Le Frankenberg, at Schloß Frankenberg 1 in Weigenheim (97215), holds one Michelin star for 2026 and serves a Franconian kitchen built on seasonal produce. The dining room sits inside a castle that has overlooked the Steigerwald since 1254.
The kitchen follows Franconian and seasonal traditions, and Michelin recognised the restaurant for high quality cooking in 2026. Vegetarian and vegan dishes are part of the offering. The menu changes with the seasons, so the dishes on your table will reflect what the region produces at that time of year.
The castle and its grounds cover 130 hectares of woods, fields, orchards and vineyards. The estate produces its own wines from the surrounding slopes. A European Heritage Project acquired the property in 2014 and spent several years restoring it.
