The story

Die Scheuer, Hofheim am Taunus: Swabian & French Country Cooking

Die Scheuer at Burgstraße 12 in Hofheim am Taunus serves Swabian country cooking with a French accent. The Michelin Guide lists it as Recommended for 2026.

On the plate

The kitchen follows the seasons and uses game from its own hunting grounds. The Michelin Guide mentions the Zwiebelrostbraten with Maultasche, sauerkraut and Spätzle. A set lunch menu and vegetarian dishes are on offer too. The Schlemmer Atlas also awarded 2.5 Kochlöffel in 2026.

In the old barn

The restaurant occupies the former Hammelsche Scheune, a 17th-century half-timbered building in the old town. Conversion began in 1983, and "Scheuer" is Swabian for barn. Old timber meets a modern country-house style inside, and a terrace opens in summer.
