The story
Pflugswirts Gasthaus at Haslacher Str. 48 in Haslach (Oberkirch) cooks Badische food for guests of the inn and its small hotel, and the Schlemmer Atlas awarded it 1.5 Kochlöffel in 2026. Familie Hund runs the house in the Renchtal, in the Ortenau at the foot of the Black Forest.
The Schlemmer Atlas notes that the Hund family awakens the palate with scallops and quail breast, as well as venison ragout and cordon bleu. That range sits comfortably between refined starters and regional comfort. The family describes its team as a mix of true cooks, hosts with heart and wine lovers, and the kitchen reflects that blend of craft and conviviality.
Alongside the à la carte dishes there is a three-course menu, which can also be ordered in a vegetarian version. The current menu for the Gasthaus and the summer garden lists aperitifs, crisp salads and house classics. On Thursdays the inn offers a Tischlein-Deck-Dich menu for 45 euros.
The building has served nearly 250 years as a working farm with orchards and vineyards, then as a village inn with a bowling alley. A hairdresser and a post office once shared the premises. Today the Gasthaus is joined by a small country hotel, and a summer garden sits alongside the dining rooms.
