The story
Poppenborg's Stübchen is a bistro at Brockhäger Straße 9 in Harsewinkel, Germany, serving French bistro cooking with Mediterranean touches. The Michelin Guide awarded it a Bib Gourmand in 2026 for good quality, good value cooking.
The bistro cooks regional and new dishes in a cozy rustic room. The Schlemmer Atlas gives it 2 Kochlöffel, naming the foie gras terrine and autumn venison classics such as loin and goulash. The gourmet dining room, which rests on classic French foundations, currently serves only groups of 8 to 18 guests on a four-course menu.
When the weather allows, every dish moves to the terrace in the courtyard fern garden, shaded by plane trees. The family also runs a hotel on the same site, and its guests have free Wi-Fi.
