The story
Restaurant Sellhorn is at Winsener Str. 23 in Hanstedt (Nordheide), where the German kitchen earned two Kochlöffel from the Schlemmer Atlas in 2026. The restaurant is listed with a vegetarian tag, and its cooking traces back to a tradition that began in 1973.
The heathland just outside the door supplies much of the kitchen's game and vegetables. Homemade groat sausage also appears among the regional dishes, a reminder of how closely the menu follows the surrounding landscape.
The Schlemmer Atlas describes a long-standing house tradition that has been updated while keeping a touch of hunting ambiance. Guests who come for the heath-driven cooking will find that old-fashioned character still present in the room.
