The story
Piment, at Lehmweg 29 in Hamburg's Eppendorf district, is a North African kitchen that earned one Michelin star in 2026 for high quality cooking. The restaurant pairs Moroccan spicing with French technique in a small, family-run dining room.
Wahabi Nouri runs the kitchen and builds his menus around vegetables and a wide range of spices. French influences sit alongside his own North African flavours. The Schlemmer Atlas gave the restaurant 3.5 Kochlöffel for its oriental-inspired gourmet menus, and Der Feinschmecker reports that he will soon hand the kitchen over to his son.
The meal opens with three preparations of carrot: gazpacho, sorbet balls and yellow carrot. Veal tartare arrives under a jelly with grapefruit and a chimichurri purée. The roasted venison comes with sauerkraut shaped into a cylinder and saffron polenta balls. The tasting menu is priced at 188 euros, and a vegetarian version is available.
The dining room occupies a subtly modernised historic building, with chandeliers, silver cutlery and white tablecloths. The mood is relaxed, and many guests are regulars. A single server manages the floor but does not always have time to explain each dish in detail. Private dining is available for celebrations and company events.
