The story
Restaurant Kastaniengarten, at Kulmbacher Str. 4 in Hof (Saale), serves a world cuisine menu inside Hotel Central. The Schlemmer Atlas gave it 2 Kochlöffel in 2026.
Chef Ralph Gelder and his team cook regional specialties next to international dishes and steaks. The Schlemmer Atlas points to the meat classics: roulade, schnitzel and ox cheek. Beyond the fixed menu, daily and weekly cards change regularly.
Depending on the time of year, the kitchen offers game from its own hunt and mushroom dishes. Vegetarian and vegan plates are on the menu as well. Wines come from the hotel's own cellar. The room seats up to 90 guests for family celebrations and company dinners.
