The story
Restaurant Herzogskelter serves Swabian food at Deutscher Hof 1 in Güglingen, and the Schlemmer Atlas gave it 1.5 Kochlöffel in 2026. The dining room sits in a centrally located house with historic charm.
Pork medallions, roast beef with onions and pink roasted duck breast are the dishes the Schlemmer Atlas singles out. The kitchen describes its approach as Swabian favorites with a small twist, using modern influences and honest craft. About 90 percent of the menu comes from regional products. The wine list stays close to home, with bottles from the Zabergäu, the Neckar valley and the Heilbronn region.
Wine and fruit were once stored here, and the building now holds the restaurant along with 32 guest rooms. For larger gatherings there is the historic Bürgersaal, and smaller rooms suit family tables or company dinners. Guests who linger over a long evening can stay the night and have breakfast built around regional produce.
