The story
Zur Krone sits at Miltenberger Straße 1 in Großheubach, where the Bavarian kitchen earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2026 for good-quality cooking at good value. The house is a traditional Gasthaus with a restaurant and guest rooms under one roof.
The menu is built on fresh, regional ingredients. Handmade Maultaschen are filled with blood sausage and served over melted onions and creamy sauerkraut. The Schlemmer Atlas gave the inn 2.5 Kochlöffel for 2026, pointing to venison loin and lobster ravioli on the card.
The Degustations-Menü moves through four courses. The printed menu lists sashimi tuna tartare on wakame seaweed salad, tagliatelle with fresh winter truffle and Parmesan, beef strip loin on porcini risotto, and a chocolate cake with a liquid centre, vanilla ice cream and sour cherries. Each course can be paired with wine, poured by the 0.1 l glass. The four-course menu is priced at 68 euros and the three-course at 58 euros.
The terrace is a romantic courtyard, and the barn has a distinctive character of its own. Guests can also stay over, either in the rooms at Zur Krone or in the guesthouse Krönchen, where breakfast is available by reservation. Dogs are welcome for a cleaning fee of 5 euros per day.
