The story
Pizarro Fine Dining is a Japanese-Peruvian kitchen at Frankfurter Str. 13 in Groß-Gerau, Germany, listed as Michelin Recommended in 2026. Chef Julio Pizarro cooks a Nikkei menu that pairs Peruvian tradition with Japanese precision, with the sea at its centre.
Julio Pizarro builds his cooking on fresh, high-quality products, mainly from the sea. Seaweed, fish, mussels and caviar anchor the kitchen's description of its work. Each dish, the restaurant says, draws on the chef's travels and experiences. The Schlemmer Atlas, which awarded three Kochlöffel for 2026, describes South American and Asian influences alongside fish.
Fourteen seats sit in total, including a chef's table placed directly at the counter of the open kitchen. Guests can watch the pass from close range. The atmosphere is closer to a living room than a formal dining room, and the team says guests should simply come in and settle. Private events for up to 20 people are possible on request, which suits exclusive gatherings and business meals.
The menu runs as a fixed Nikkei progression from Wednesday to Saturday, and the Schlemmer Atlas reports rotating menus of up to seven courses. Pescatarian options are available with at least 24 hours' notice. Vegetarian menus are not offered, and adjustments are limited to specific allergies or intolerances. Wines are chosen to accompany the courses, and a separate wine menu is available.
