The story
Olive Hotel & Restaurant at Domstraße 40, 17489 Greifswald, runs a Mediterranean kitchen in the city center, and the Schlemmer Atlas awarded it 2 Kochlöffel in 2026. The guide notes that fish, meat and pasta are the dishes guests order most here.
The kitchen is open, so diners can watch the cooking from their tables. The menu draws on the countries around the Mediterranean, from Italian pasta and risotto to dishes with French and Maghreb influences.
Pasta with chanterelles, pesto and buffalo mozzarella is one of the current highlights. The seasonal list also includes a porcini risotto finished with parmesan and truffle sauce, and grilled dorado fillets served on Mediterranean potato vegetables.
The restaurant has 30 seats indoors and another 30 in the summer garden, which is quietly located. The Schlemmer Atlas describes high ceilings and chandeliers in the dining room.
The hotel has four single and four double rooms, so guests can dine and stay under one roof.
The sweet course includes a Tartufo, the Italian ice cream specialty, and a vanilla crème brûlée served with house-made sorbet. A warm chocolate tart on fruit sauce is also on the list.
