The story
Restaurant Winter in Gomadingen, at Ziegelbergstr. 24, serves Swabian cooking in a restaurant attached to a family-run country hotel. The Schlemmer Atlas 2026 awarded it 2 Kochlöffel.
Father Klaus Winter works the stove alongside küchenchef Felix Staubach. The menu mixes Swabian classics with modern dishes built on regional ingredients and game from the family's own hunt.
The cooking follows the seasons. Late summer brought chanterelles served with house-made linguine. In November a limited goose menu opened with pan-fried goose liver and a clear goose consommé, followed by roast goose with red cabbage, quince purée and a potato gratin.
The Gaststube was newly furnished, and one reviewer called it tasteful and stylish. In fine weather, the terrace looks out over the Lautertal valley. Guests also single out the attentive service and the generous portions.
