The story
Stubersheimer Hof, at Bräunisheimer Straße 1 in Geislingen an der Steige, is a Swabian country inn with a restaurant and seven guest rooms. The Michelin Recommended distinction for 2026 places it among the regional tables worth a stop on the Swabian Alb. The kitchen works with classic, home-style dishes, and the family that runs it has done so since opening in 2009.
Martina Laib has led the kitchen since October 2017, after earning her Küchenmeister qualification in 2013. The Swabian kitchen here stays close to the region, with dishes such as slow-braised ox cheeks and onion roast beef. A set lunch menu sits alongside the regular offering, and the Schlemmer Atlas rates the restaurant 2.5 Kochlöffel for 2026.
The building was first recorded as a farm in the 13th century. The Laib family bought the derelict property in 2004 and spent five years on the renovation before the restaurant and hotel opened in the summer of 2009. The seven rooms are decorated in a country style, and guests can dine outdoors or park on site.
