The story
Fürstenfelder, at Fürstenfeld 15 in Fürstenfeldbruck, serves organic country cooking with Bavarian roots. The Michelin Guide awarded it a Bib Gourmand in 2026 for good quality, good value cooking.
The restaurant opened in 2001 in the former cowshed of Fürstenfeld monastery, and a 2018 rebuild reworked its concept. The Schlemmer Atlas (2,5 Kochlöffel, 2026) describes a spacious room with a cross vault from the monastery era, seating alcoves and a long communal table. A beer garden extends the dining outdoors.
The kitchen has held organic certification since 2003 and uses seasonal, regional products wherever it can. Fresh pasta is made for the evening menu, and the bread and bratwurst are also made on site. Wild game comes from proprietor Gerhard Kohlfürst, when time and hunting luck allow.
The menu has meat, poultry and fish dishes, and the Schlemmer Atlas mentions carp, grilled dishes and desserts made for sharing. Vegetarian and vegan plates have a real place alongside them. The restaurant also skips disposable crockery and table linen to save water.
