The story
Mountain Hub Gourmet sits inside the Hilton Munich Airport at Terminalstraße Mitte 20 in Freising. It holds one Michelin Star (2026) for a modern, international kitchen led by Marcel Tauschek.
Tauschek builds dishes around pre-Alpine products and adds subtle nods to Italy. Tender char arrives with peas and watercress, and brown trout is paired with tomato and fennel for a gentler Mediterranean note. Desserts tend to be the more inventive part of the meal, for example strawberry with balsamic and burrata. Der Feinschmecker rated the restaurant 2.5 in 2026.
Guests decide how far to go, with four, five or six courses at €160, €170 and €185. A six-course vegetarian menu is also offered. Diners under 30 can book the Young Star menu, four courses for €95. Wine pairing runs from €65 to €95 depending on the length of the menu, and the list holds around 250 selections, mostly from classic European regions.
The restaurant is in the back area of Mountain Hub Social Dining, in a modern Alpine setting. Tables have plenty of space around them. The patterns and surfaces can look a little busy, but the service is articulate and attentive.
