The story
Schwarzkopf in Frammersbach serves country cooking at Lohrer Straße 80, in the Spessart hills of Germany. The Michelin Guide awarded the restaurant a Bib Gourmand for 2026, citing good quality, good value cooking. The house also runs six guest rooms alongside the dining room.
Stefan's kitchen follows the calendar, with dishes that change as the year moves on. The Schlemmer Atlas gives the house 2 Kochlöffel for 2026 and points to Spessart specialties, several menu options and local beers. Cooking classes can be booked privately on request, usually on a Sunday starting at 11:00, followed by a shared meal with wines from the cellar.
Roast goose and duck are prepared on pre-order and served with hand-rolled dumplings, house-made red cabbage and a mugwort sauce. The goose suits a table of four, while the farm duck is sized for two. Seasonal evenings bring a four-course menu lit only by candles and a shared tapas dinner in March.
The wood-paneled dining room gets candlelit in winter, and the garden takes over when the weather allows. A bright first-floor room with a view over the garden and a piano hosts events for up to 40 guests. Breakfast in the upper room features homemade jams, dandelion honey and apple juice pressed from Frammersbach orchards.
