The story
Il Cortile, at Johannesstraße 150 in Erfurt's old town, is a modern Italian restaurant with Mediterranean influences. The Michelin Guide listed it as Recommended in 2026. Owner Denise König has welcomed guests here for more than twelve years.
Andreas Schöppe leads the kitchen. He cooks with ingredients from around the world, and the menu changes with the season. The Schlemmer Atlas awarded the restaurant two Kochlöffel in 2026 and describes an upscale Italian room where guests can choose à la carte or a menu of up to six courses.
The current card includes lamb loin with truffled kohlrabi, veal loin with potato and leek, and zander with spring vegetables and tomato. Starters range from scallop with hazelnut and kohlrabi to arancini with brie, caviar and raspberry. For dessert, Baumkuchen comes with sour cream and pistachio. The guide also names braised lamb shanks and ricotta-truffle gnocchi among the house dishes.
The dining room has a cozy feel and white tablecloths, and there is outdoor seating. Denise König and the service team focus on personal attention. Guests who follow vegan or vegetarian diets, or who have allergies, are asked to say so when they book.
