The story
Gutsküche in Duvenstedt, at Wulksfelder Damm 15, serves organic country cooking with world-cuisine influences on the farm of Gut Wulksfelde. The Michelin Guide awarded it a Bib Gourmand in 2026.
Matthias and Rebecca Gfrörer spent more than ten years in top kitchens abroad before opening here in 2009. Matthias, a Hamburg native, writes new dishes every week from seasonal produce, and everything he cooks is organic or better. Many plates carry traces of other cuisines. Rebecca runs the dining room and looks after a wine list of 160 positions.
The March 2026 menu leans toward vegetables: potato and celeriac rösti with glazed mushrooms and horseradish cream, homemade Tiroler Käsespätzle, a coconut curry with cashew rice. Meat and fish sit alongside. Deutsch Angus from the farm's own organic herd is dry-aged, and the bouillabaisse comes with rouille and garlic toast. The Schlemmer Atlas gave the kitchen 2.5 Kochlöffel in 2026.
Rebecca suggests organic wines to match the dishes, poured by the glass at 7 €. Desserts include a quince caramel tart with ginger cream ice and a Black Forest cherry cake served "unplugged". In good weather, the garden pours drinks and scoops homemade ice cream.
