The story
QOMO Restaurant & Bar, at Stromstr. 20 in Düsseldorf, is a Japanese restaurant cooking a modern Japanese fusion menu, and the Schlemmer Atlas awarded it 2,5 Kochlöffel in 2026. The dining room sits inside the Rheinturm tower, with the city spread out below the windows.
The kitchen works in a modern Japanese fusion style, moving from Wagyu gyoza and a sharp aka miso soup to classic nigiri. Tuna, sea wolf and salmon feature among the nigiri, while marbled Wagyu and a lamb cutlet with sweet teriyaki sauce anchor the heavier plates. Dishes arrive for the whole table to share at the same time.
Champagne and cocktails are plentiful, and the list also includes Japanese sake and wine. The dessert that closes the meal is an unusual one: a green tea preparation with a mousse-like, creamy texture and a pleasant bitterness.
The décor is restrained and clear, which keeps attention on the city and the horizon. The tower's rotating floor completes one turn every 72 minutes, so the view shifts between daytime and sunset.
