The story
Stresa, at Augsburger Straße 85 in Dresden's Striesen district, serves seasonal European cooking with Italian and Mediterranean influences, and Der Feinschmecker awarded it 3 in 2026.
Tobias Heldt is the new head chef, and he keeps the house line while adding contemporary accents. The menu changes with the season, and ingredients come mostly from regional suppliers. Pasta and sourdough bread are made in the kitchen, and vegetarian and vegan dishes sit alongside meat and fish.
The kitchen braises Simmental beef short rib for 48 hours. Fallow deer appears as both shoulder and tenderloin, sourced from the Löhnert organic farm in Upper Lusatia. Meat comes from Großenhain and vegetables and fruit from Radebeul. The wine list leans European, with a dry Goldriesling from Tim Strasser in Meißen and Heitlinger VDP wines from Baden, plus Saxon bottles.
The restaurant occupies a Gründerzeit corner building with a terrace. Inside, roughly 100 square meters seat up to 70 guests. The open kitchen anchors the room, and the atmosphere stays lively without being loud. The same team also runs a weekday bistro lunch and catering.
