The story
Lou im Cavalierhaus serves French and modern cuisine at Zum Kavalierhaus 9 in Cottbus, inside the historic Branitz Landscape Park. The Schlemmer Atlas awarded it 3 Kochlöffel in 2026, and the restaurant takes its name from Prince Hermann von Pückler, the park's creator, who was nicknamed "Lou."
The evening offers a small à la carte selection alongside a seven-course menu. The Schlemmer Atlas recommends booking ahead. The French kitchen works within a tight, deliberate range.
Three pension rooms, named "Branitz," "England" and "Orient," reflect the prince's life and garden work, and each piece of furniture was made by hand for its room. The east-facing breakfast room overlooks the Parkschmiede, and breakfast is served by reservation from 7:30. The house also hosts events and private dining for up to 45 guests.
