The story
Restaurant Villa Esche, at Parkstraße 58 in Chemnitz, runs a contemporary French kitchen with international leanings and earned a Michelin Recommended listing for 2026.
Lucas Sander is listed as Küchenchef on the team page, with Luisa Herrmann working alongside him as Köchin. The Schlemmer Atlas gave the restaurant 2.5 Kochlöffel for 2026 and describes a kitchen that looks both international and regional. Its examples include quince-mustard soup, Wiener schnitzel and braised ox cheek.
The printed evening card, which the restaurant notes may not match the day's offer, lists Stör from France with tarragon hollandaise, grilled octopus with papaya and bumbu beurre blanc, and Niederwürschnitzer Wagyu with dashi, egg yolk and enoki. Vegan choices include massaman banana curry with pineapple and cassava, and a yellow beet tartare with Meyer lemon and pumpernickel. The six-course menu runs on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings and changes every week.
The dining room sits in the carriage house of an Art Nouveau villa. Private dining and private events are offered, and the restaurant accepts bookings for celebrations and receptions outside regular opening times. Falk Heinrich appears as host and Christian Meinhold as restaurant manager.
