The story
Strandhaus is a Mediterranean fusion restaurant at Georgstraße 28 in Bonn's old town, and the Michelin Guide listed it as Recommended in 2026. The menu changes regularly and follows the seasons, so the dishes you find on one visit may differ on the next.
The restaurant has operated since September 2000, and Günter Grote-Vallée and Lucas Brockhausen welcome guests in person. Critics describe the cooking as strong and clear rather than fussy, built on good ingredients. The Mediterranean leanings are most visible in the seasonal plates, which the kitchen keeps lively with creative touches.
The Schlemmer Atlas, which awarded 2.5 Kochlöffel for 2026, describes a small but carefully chosen menu. Monkfish with risotto and spinach ravioli are two of the examples it names. The short card suits a kitchen that prefers depth on each plate to a long list.
The main room seats up to 30 guests, the Strandzimmer up to 24, and the Gelber Salon hosts groups of 12 to 16. The interior uses nautical touches, including portholes that look toward the kitchen, and the terrace offers outdoor seating. A wine list worth browsing rounds out the evening.
