The story
Hämmerle's Restaurant Landgenuss at Bliestalstr. 110 a in Blieskastel cooks a seasonal modern French menu that earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand for 2026, recognised for good cooking at good value.
The kitchen builds its menu around what the season and the surrounding region provide. Producers are named on the menu itself, among them a goat's cheese from the Warndt, lentils from Brenschelbach and organic mushrooms from Saarbrücken. Lamb, beef and fish sit alongside vegetarian dishes that get equal attention.
A festive beef consommé comes with marrow dumplings and crêpe strips, and a bouillabaisse-style fish soup arrives with saffron mayonnaise and a grilled crostini. The handmade vegetarian Maultaschen are filled with fresh cheese, spinach and lentils, finished with beurre blanc. Heartier plates include a veal Wiener Schnitzel with lingonberries and a Hereford beef fillet with morels. Desserts range from house-made ice creams and sorbets to a crème brûlée with goat's cheese and rhubarb.
The dining room has a warm country-house feel, and the service is attentive and friendly. In summer the terrace is the place guests ask for first. The restaurant also runs a daily changing three-course menu, which suits a relaxed lunch. The family's sister restaurant, Chef's Table, holds a Michelin star for 2026, so the same kitchen philosophy carries across both addresses.
