The story
Restaurant Hallerhof sits at Hallerhof 1 in Bergheim-Oberaußem, 50129, where a seasonal farm kitchen earned 1.5 Kochlöffel in the Schlemmer Atlas (2026). The restaurant works alongside the estate's farming and riding activities, and its menu leans on what grows on the property.
Asparagus, strawberries and rhubarb travel from the estate's fields to the table, as the Schlemmer Atlas entry describes. The asparagus buffet runs from early April to late June. Steaks and potato dishes sit alongside the seasonal produce, so the kitchen covers both the garden and the grill.
Kerstin and Karl-Rainer Peters have run the Hallerhof since 1995, together with their team. It began as an old riding farm with a "Gute Stube," a parlour-style dining room, and that heritage is still visible in how the place operates. Families, day-trippers and business guests all come through the door. Vegetarian dishes and a set lunch menu are part of the offering.
