The story
Villa René Lalique, at 18 Rue Bellevue in Wingen-sur-Moder, runs a contemporary French kitchen with Austrian and German influences and holds two Michelin stars (2026). The restaurant sits inside the Lalique family's villa in northern Alsace.
Chef Paul Stradner builds his menu around three threads: Alsace, his adopted home, Austria, where he was born, and Germany, where he trained. Dishes move through those regions with personal touches drawn from his own career. Produce comes in part from the Northern Vosges.
Pastry chef Jonathan Bunel works with Northern Vosges produce for his desserts. Restaurant manager Hervé Schmitt runs the dining room and sets each table with Lalique tableware. The wine cellar holds about 60,000 bottles, and head sommelier Romain Iltis pairs them with the food. The cellar earned a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence in 2016.
