The story
Georges Blanc, on the Place du Marché in Vonnas, France, is a classic cuisine restaurant that holds two Michelin stars (2026) for excellent cooking.
Georges Blanc cooks as heir to three generations of family cooks. He revisits traditional recipes with elegance and simplicity, and the menu draws on the land of Bresse, which he is proud to celebrate. The result is classic French cooking that stays close to its roots.
The house's signature plate is the Bresse poultry. Guests who book a cooking workshop, led by Frédéric Blanc, can watch the dish being prepared with the chefs. The class runs on Saturday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30, and participants take home the recipes at the end.
The restaurant's sommelier leads wine tastings in the cellar, where rare bottles are kept. Each session includes a tour, three wines, and a short lesson in oenology. Beyond the restaurant, the village covers about five hectares, with a two-hectare park, a pigeon loft, and a private cinema named after comedian Laurent Gerra, a family friend.
