The story
Métive is a seafood restaurant at 48 rue des Quatre-Moulins in Saint-Pierre-d'Oléron, and Le Fooding listed it in 2026. The name is Old French for harvest, and the kitchen runs part bakery, part restaurant on the Île d'Oléron.
Pauline Celle and Julien Borie came to the island from Baston in Bordeaux, a Fooding Guide 2022 award winner. Michelin also lists Métive as Recommended for 2026. The building is a white and seafoam-green bakehouse, and its counter holds breads fresh from the oven.
The menu is a line of small plates built on carefully sourced local produce. Guests can mix and match, or share the full selection at the table. Fish is a clear focus, and the room has exposed stone walls and light wood furniture. There is plenty of bread on hand, which suits a plate that needs mopping.
