The story
La Petite Ourse is a seasonal restaurant at 48 boulevard de la Liberté in Rennes, France, and holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand for 2026, recognised for good-quality, good-value cooking. The weekday lunch menu is built on local produce, most of it organic, and the carte changes from week to week.
Germain Caillet runs the kitchen, and he puts particular care into the sauces and jus that tie the dishes together. Each day offers one meat plate, one fish plate and a vegetarian option. The team has served lunch here since 2019, drawing on named local growers for vegetables, eggs, pork, cheese and bread.
Le Fooding lists the restaurant for 2026 and describes a former crêperie remodelled under a cosmic ceiling. Its reviewer ate a potato salad with whelks and smoked mayo, then pork loin with celeriac purée and a vinegary jus. Dessert was a chocolate cream with crunchy cacao and salted caramel.
