The story
Les Pipelettes serves bistro and modern cuisine at 3 rue Valéry-Meunier in Pau, France. Le Fooding listed it in 2026, and the Michelin Guide recommended it the same year.
The lunch menu is labelled light bites, but the plates carry real weight. One visit began with a refreshing zucchini, basil and mint soup, then stuffed eggplant filled with slow-cooked shredded lamb, served with a mesclun, beetroot and grape salad. Dessert was a chocolate and chestnut cake with mascarpone cream. The afternoon tea selection runs to peanut caramel cookies, rhubarb tart and apple strudel.
The dining room reads as a bistro-grocer, with blue and grey tones, floral wallpaper, a vintage scale and shelves stocked with preserves and chocolate. Aline, Anne-Lise and Christelle run the floor at a brisk midday pace. Outdoor seating is available for warmer days.
