The story
Tempête, at 5 Cour des Petites Écuries in Paris, runs a freestyle kitchen with wine and cocktails, and Le Fooding listed it in 2026. The restaurant stays open late and sets tables outdoors, in the Faubourg Saint-Denis area.
Chef Nicolas Ricouard, formerly of Mary Celeste, leads the kitchen. Le Fooding's tasting notes describe tender smoked salmon from the Poiskaï smokehouse, served with sweet mustard and pickled red onion. A chickpea pancake arrives under black tahini, with pan-fried butternut squash, cauliflower and house harissa.
Whole fried quail in panko comes with aioli and a spicy cucumber salad. The hanger steak is served with Roscoff onions, matchstick fries and jus. Smaller plates on the current menu include fried chicken with tamarind honey and chipotle, and dadinhos with pecorino and chili pear. Dessert is a miso caramel sundae or a chocolate fondant with hazelnut butter.
