The story
Osteria Ferrara sits at 7 Rue du Dahomey in Paris, an Italian kitchen run by Fabrizio Ferrara and listed as Recommended by the Michelin Guide in 2026.
Before it was a restaurant, the address was a meeting place for Italian anarchists. A cabinetmaker turned it into a bistro in 1932, and the varnished woodwork still shows his hand. Le Fooding also notes bare stone walls, old-fashioned tableware and industrial light fixtures. There is outdoor seating too.
The house says the spirit of Caffè dei Cioppi carries on here, and that the new kitchen gave Fabrizio room to show the full range of Italian cooking. Le Fooding, which listed the restaurant in 2026, praised a prix-fixe lunch of chicken liver cromesquis with pickled onion, then linguine with fish roe and saffron. Apple cake with mascarpone cream closed the meal. The à la carte runs to octopus salad, potato and nettle pressé, and ricotta-squash ravioli with mint and peppery canestrato.
The wine list is flagged as one of the more interesting in the area, and a tasting menu is available. The room also takes private parties.
