The story
Restaurant Le Meurice Alain Ducasse serves French haute cuisine at 228 rue de Rivoli in Paris, inside Hôtel Le Meurice. It holds two Michelin stars in the 2026 guide, cited for excellent cooking.
Executive chef Amaury Bouhours trained at Le Louis XV in Monaco and in Alain Ducasse kitchens around Paris, including Plaza Athénée. He came to Le Meurice as chef de cuisine under Jocelyn Herland. The cooking follows Ducasse's "Essential Cuisine": each dish is built around one product, and technique stays in the background. Pastry chef Cédric Grolet has been part of the team since 2011.
The room takes its cue from the Salon de la Paix at Versailles, with antique mirrors, crystal chandeliers, bronze, marble and frescoes. Philippe Starck gave it a contemporary update. Large windows look over the Jardins des Tuileries. Porcelain plates designed by Shinichiro Ogata are made in Arita, Japan.
Chief sommelier Gabriel Veissaire joined in 2019 after years at Le Taillevent and Guy Savoy's Monnaie de Paris. He favours organic and biodynamic wines that let the terroir speak. The list earned a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence in 2024.
