The story

Le Café du 19M in Paris: French Café Cuisine and Artisan Pizza

Le Café du 19M is a French café on Place Skanderbeg in Paris, set at the entrance of the 19M art gallery, and Le Fooding listed it in 2026. Lunch runs alongside an all-day coffee shop, so the room changes shape through the day.

Lunch plates and pizzas

The lunch menu follows seasonal vegetables and changes with deliveries, with long-fermented artisan pizzas as a constant. The Margherita Tokyo style pairs a pinched crust and fior di latte with shiso leaves and toasted sesame oil. Starters and desserts sit between 6 and 10 euros, and mains between 15 and 25 euros.

The Le Fooding writer, who ate lunch here, singled out a trio of eggs mimosa, eggplant with ras el hanout and fromage frais, and crisp fish and chips with a sharp tartare sauce. Dessert combined summer berries, yogurt, Breton shortbread and rosemary oil.

Weekends and the room

On weekends the menu shifts to izakaya-style plates, XL pizzas, natural wines, Kirin beer and sake by the glass. Gallery visitors, neighbourhood regulars and families fill the tables. The building is the work of Rudy Ricciotti, and its brutalist concrete gives the room a sober backdrop for the food.

Located inside 19M, the headquarters for Chanel’s 11 artisan houses, this café isn’t just reserved for staff! On the contrary: digital nomads, art lovers and neighborhood kids come take up residence during the day at this extension of the art gallery that occupies the ground floor of a building designed by Rudy Ricciotti. But most importantly, it’s at lunchtime that a well-informed crowd enjoys the little locavore creations stitched together by Laurine Marty, a disciple of Bertrand Grébaut (Septime, Clamato, etc.). The day we went for lunch, we had: a trio of eggs mimosa that we would happily order again; eggplant roasted with ral el hanout and paired with fromage frais, plus a chickpea salad; crispy and plump fish and chips served with fat fries and a diabolically good tartare sauce for dipping… After all that, we didn’t have room for dessert – a combination of summer berries, yogurt, Breton shortbread and rosemary oil. // Kelly Slatée
