The story
Jium is a Korean restaurant at 26 rue Tiphaine in Paris's 15th arrondissement, and Michelin lists it as Recommended for 2026. Le Fooding also features the kitchen, noting that the La Motte-Picquet neighborhood has favored this spot since 2007.
Kim Hong-sung's menu is printed on school graph paper and changes the choices diners make from it. Chubby mandoo, pan-fried pork and celery dumplings, make a good opening. The kimchi jjigae, a stew with pork belly and tofu, has heat that stays on the right side of too much.
The dining room is a white tiled kitchen-atelier with mid-century modern chairs and 1950s tableware. Opaline glass lamps hang over the tables. Dessert is a black sesame panna cotta or a scoop of yuzu sorbet, and solo diners will find it a comfortable place to eat alone.
