The story

Bistrotters, Paris 14: Modern French Bistro Cooking Near Plaisance

Bistrotters is a modern French bistro at 9 rue Decrès in Paris's 14th arrondissement, and Michelin recommended it in 2026. The kitchen cooks seasonal bistro dishes built on local produce, served in a room that keeps its old-fashioned character.

Seasonal plates from the kitchen

Dishes change with the season. Recent menu items on the website include pork tenderloin with maple jus, polenta and oyster mushrooms, and hake fillet in mussel sauce over spelt risotto. Two courses cost 39 euros and three courses 47 euros, and vegetarian options are available on the menu.

The room and the dessert

Le Fooding, which listed the restaurant in 2026, describes original hardwood floors, an old-school zinc bar and glass paste lampshades. The French toast with salted butter caramel and crispy chocolate is one of the desserts on the menu.

Despite what you might imagine because of its name, Bistrotters doesn’t really cook cuisine from far away – on the contrary! In their classy bistro (original hardwood floors, an old-school zinc bar, glass paste lampshades), Adrien Desveaux-Toutain and Manon Kervella play the seasonal, locavore (ingredients from Ile-de-France) card. The other day at lunch, Uruguayan chef Martin de los Santos’s menu gave us a fine demonstration: a cheeky andouille and pig ear meatball lit up by fried jalapeños and hoisin sauce; pork belly that was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, served with fennel and a cider sauce; before an addictive French toast with salted caramel and crunchy chocolate. // D.C.
