The story
Le Grand Cap is a modern cuisine restaurant at Chemin du Phare in Leucate, on the Mediterranean coast of southern France. The kitchen holds one Michelin star (2026), and the dining room looks out over the sea.
Chef Erwan Houssin cooks with produce from the surrounding landscape, where sand beaches, limestone cliffs and garrigue scrubland meet. The restaurant describes his plates as strongly flavoured, with a particular affinity for iodine-rich ingredients and bright acidity. His partner Paméla Houssin leads the pastry kitchen, and the two present their work as a shared creation from starter to dessert.
Tables at the main restaurant face the Mediterranean, and the venue offers outdoor seating and air conditioning. Beneath it, the bistro L'Aphyllanthe shares the same seafront position with a more relaxed atmosphere and the same sourcing standards. Wine pairing and a private room are available for guests who want a longer evening.
