The story
Racinette is a bistro at 123 Rue nationale in Lectoure, in the Gers, and it holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand for 2026. Lionel Créteur and Laurence Couillard run it as the lighter successor to their restaurant Racine.
Lionel is Belgian and cooked in Brussels, including at Bouchéry and Comme chez Soi. Laurence comes from Quebec and studied design and hospitality. They moved from Tillac to Lectoure and opened Racine there. Racinette keeps that spirit in a looser format, and Le Fooding listed the couple's work in 2026.
The current menu reads as modern cuisine with a strong Gascon accent. There is mi-cuit foie gras with Floc and Armagnac, and beef tartare with ground ivy and ewe's milk tomme. Among the mains are a half duck breast with Beluga lentils and pickled girolles, and poached turbot with an aubergine caviar. Dessert might be a peach nage with lavender blancmange, or an affogato du Gers finished with a measure of Armagnac. In the warmer months the menu shifts to lighter, cooler plates.
The house describes Racinette as a place to stop at any hour. Some start with coffee and a pastry, others with oysters and a glass of white. Lunch is a starter, main and dessert, kept local, seasonal and homemade. Both the menu and the kitchen suit a quick bite as well as a longer meal.
