The story
La Turlutte is a bistro in La Teste-de-Buch, at 22 Rue des Goélands in Lège-Cap-Ferret, France. Le Fooding named it Best bar à délices in 2025, and the restaurant pairs seafood and meat in a relaxed, bar-led bistro setting.
Nathan Allard, formerly of Le Dauphin, Déviant and Vivant 2, and Tom Netzer, formerly of Yachting in Cap-Ferret, run the kitchen together. Their approach is the surf and turf, with meals built to pair with carefully sourced wines.
A Le Fooding visit described raw line-caught bluefin tuna, thinly sliced and set in grated tomatoes with raw egg yolk. Haddock accras arrived with zucchini and chives, finished with a lemony cocktail sauce. Veal tartare came with ajo blanco under grated mimolette, and Ispéguy trout gravlax with stracciatella and a cilantro sauce. Orecchiette in sage butter, brightened with lemon and topped with golden breadcrumbs, rounded out the savory courses. The meal closed with a brick pastry millefeuille layered with lemon cream and whipped cream.
Guests sit at the bar, which has a guinguette feel: paneled walls, bistro chairs, bottles on display and an open kitchen. The wooden facade is discreet, so the room opens up once you are inside.
