The story
La P'tite Patte is the bistronomy bistro of Maison Patte Noire, at 17 avenue de Nantes in Cholet, France. The Michelin Bib Gourmand for 2026 recognises its good quality, good value cooking.
The kitchen makes everything in house and builds its menu around seasonal produce. The card changes often, so a return visit rarely finds the same dishes. The owners describe the cooking as family-style, with the ingredient taking priority over complicated technique.
The bistro occupies a bourgeois house from the 1890s, once known as the Château de Bel-Air, with a facade listed as a historic monument. The grounds cover about 7,000 square metres with old trees, and the setting is only a few minutes' walk from the town centre. Inside, the mood is relaxed and retro, with a touch of guinguette. The gastronomic restaurant, Le Patte Noire, is on the first floor of the same building.
