The story
Maison Lameloise, at 36 place d'Armes in Chagny, is a French restaurant awarded three Michelin stars in 2026 for exceptional cuisine. It sits inside a former post house in Burgundy, with a hotel under the same roof.
The Lameloise family took over the Hôtel du Commerce in Chagny in 1921. Three generations followed one another in the kitchen: Pierre, Jean and Jacques Lameloise. The house motto, "La tradition, c'est innover," still frames how the place describes its approach.
Eric Pras arrived in 2008 at the age of 36, a Meilleur Ouvrier de France (2004) and former right hand to Régis Marcon. He worked alongside Jacques Lameloise for a year, then took over the stove in 2009. His modern French cooking won over both longtime guests and new ones. Frédéric Lamy, a Chagny native trained at the Lausanne hotel school and at Paul Bocuse, runs the house with him.
The restaurant keeps a smart dress code: jackets and elegant trousers for men, with the jacket rule relaxed in summer. Dinner, lunch and private parties are on offer, and the wine list draws particular interest. The hotel offers rooms alone or paired with a table in the gastronomic restaurant. Pras has also written a book of 30 recipes from the restaurant, adapted for the home cook.
