The story
La Table de Charrou is a bistro in Cajarc, France, at Mas de Charrou, 300 route de Charrou, Limogne-en-Quercy. Michelin recommended it in 2026, and Le Fooding listed it the same year.
The chef, Charles Fuan, trained as a butcher, and the kitchen breaks down whole carcasses on site. The meat comes directly from local producers, and the team uses the whole animal, from well-known cuts to less common pieces. Lucie Escrozailles, who looks after the wine, is the daughter of the village butcher.
Le Fooding describes a steak tartare made from local veal, slow-cooked for a pink centre, with tarragon mayonnaise, capers, anchovies and piment d'Espelette. The site says Sunday lunch is a single set menu where guests choose only the meat, with lamb cooked in the traditional wood oven. Bread comes from the Viguié bakery and the ice cream from Ferme Sanhes. Vegetarians are asked to say so at booking, since the kitchen offers options on request.
The bistro occupies a former farmhouse on the Causse de Limogne, now sleek and contemporary, with plenty of natural light and air conditioning. Outside, a quiet terrace sits under the pergola. The wine list is selected by trained sommeliers and leans toward organic and biodynamic growers, with bottles at several price levels.
