The story
Ériu Deli is a sandwich shop and grocery at 8 Place Charles Gruet in Bordeaux, listed by Le Fooding in 2026. It is the second address from Grace Lohan, who also runs the Irish café Café Ériu close by.
Chef Marie Le Cossec, previously at Gauta, builds the sandwiches around housemade pickles and sharp dressings. The grilled cheese pairs country bread from Louis Lamour with melted leeks and mature cheddar from the neighboring Mimi Crèmerie. A vegetable focaccia comes with peanut sauce and a miso-marinated egg. Le Fooding's pick is the bacon sando, with lettuce, pickled red onions and a parmesan and caper mayo. For something sweet, there are matcha cranberry cookies and a caramel-pecan sponge cake.
Gironde interior designer Cécile Simian (known as Bibi) dressed the space with pinewood walls, a sapele-wood counter and fifties-style lighting. The shelves hold store cupboard staples from Belazu, including mustard seed pickles, tahini and rose harissa. Homemade chicken pies to take away are planned.
