The story
La Table du Marché is a bistro and bistronomy restaurant at 21 place Louis-de-la-Bardonnie in Bergerac, France, recommended by Michelin in 2026. It sits opposite the town's covered market, and the kitchen works with French produce and the seasons.
Stéphane Cuzin was born in Paris and worked in starred kitchens there and in Brussels before opening this restaurant. He describes the food as simple but never simplistic. Traditional and modern dishes often appear side by side, and the menu changes with what the market and the seasons bring. Vegetarian plates are part of the regular offer.
The dining room uses wood, steel and glass, with small touches of colour. The wine list draws on Bergerac and the south west, the Rhône, the Loire, Burgundy, Champagne and Languedoc, with many bottles from growers who make their own wine. Biodynamic and natural wines are a focus, and several can be ordered by the glass. The cellar also sells wine to take away.
