The story
Gribiche is a classic French bistro at 9 rue Max-Richard in Angers, awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2026 for good quality, good value cooking.
Chef Alexandre Tessier (ex-Au Goût du Jour) and pastry chef Emmanuelle Moulié (ex-Petits Prés) took over the former Michelin-starred Une Île, once run by Gérard Bossé. Le Fooding listed the restaurant in 2026. The room has a royal blue façade, a tiled bar and pieces by local artists.
Pâté en croûte is central here. Le Fooding described a version of pig's tongue, trotters and cheeks with chicken, foie gras, pistachios and a Chenin jelly. Warm veal's head arrives with a generous sauce gribiche, and smoked eel comes in dashi broth. Pork sausage with buttery mash leads to a dessert of strawberries, mascarpone and crushed meringue.
