The story
Frederikshøj is a fine dining restaurant at Oddervej 19-21 in Aarhus, and in 2026 it holds two Michelin stars for what the guide calls excellent cooking.
The White Guide ranks Frederikshøj at Global masters level for 2026. It calls the restaurant a gastronomic bastion whose reach extends well beyond Aarhus and Jutland. The kitchen is led by Wassim Hallal. After a closure for renovation, inside and out, the guide found the place sharper and more inviting than before.
The menu is priced at DKK 2,600. It opens with löjrom, fresh cheese and roasted birch, then moves to salted scallop with smoked roe and kingfish with new radishes. Snow crab arrives with green asparagus and yeast. Later come Danish lobster with white asparagus and crispy veal sweetbread, and pigeon with green pepper and carrot. Dessert is rhubarb and chocolate in different textures with lemon verbena. A lemon and caviar course can be added for DKK 900.
Four pairings are offered, from DKK 2,000 to DKK 10,000. The first starts with a Bergère blanc de blancs from Épernay and ends on an Alsace Pinot Gris. The top tier includes a 2008 Dom Pérignon P2 and a 2001 Château Palmer from Margaux. It also lists a Meursault Premier Cru from the Hospice de Beaune, bottled under the Frederikshøj name.
