The story
Konoba Kala is a Croatian restaurant at Kala 7 in Supetar, on the island of Brač, and it holds a score of 15 from Gault&Millau for 2026. A former traditional tavern, it now ranks among the few fine-dining addresses on the island.
Dino Šeparović cooks from what the island gives him, following the seasons and using local ingredients. The approach to Croatian food is contemporary, and the menu stays short, which points to dishes prepared fresh. It is built as a tasting menu, though plates can be ordered individually. Bowls and plates are chosen to suit each dish.
The signature is the lamb tartare. Brač lamb is the star, paired with fermented kohlrabi and roasted hazelnuts for crunch. Seafood such as oysters, tuna and turbot also appears, and the menu changes regularly. The site notes a new menu for the 2026 season is on the way.
Kala sits in a small alley (a kala) above the waterfront. The interior and the terrace are modern and refined, yet the feel of a family restaurant remains. Mia Šeparović, Dino's wife, is the sommelier and runs the dining room. Her list ranges from Croatian winemakers to well-known international houses. The restaurant is also listed as Recommended by the Michelin Guide in 2026.
